parent-kid issues

I am very glad to be in the transition period between adolescence and adulthood. It allows me to view at things from two different angles, to understand matters from a broader perspective. I can, or at least I think I can, use an adult’s mindset to understand an adolescent’s opinions, and to tell myself what to look out for in teens when I get old and haggard and alienated from those youngsters’ views.

The impact of parents’ behaviour on their children is very much undermined these days. Never underestimate how much harm each petty quarrel or harangue with your spouse may cause to a child. In the eyes of a child, his or her parents are the most important people around. Children look up to them and respect them. Every bit of negativity parents express can result in unnecessary stress in their kids. In addition, they learn by imitating others’ actions, hence it is of utmost importance to be mindful of how you conduct yourself in front of your children. How do I know? I’m still very much a kid right now.

Listening to nice music can be likened to eating home-cooked food. It’s nourishing, enjoyable and heart-warming. Especially when you know that the person who prepared it had done it lovingly and with care. *Grins* I love nice music!

Teachers' Day is around the corner. Any idea what to get for them?

boo!
