long, random notes

'A's results

Results were released last Friday! Xy and I kaypo-ed our way into the hall. Amongst those in the honour roll, there were so many Benjamins that I lost count. And of course, there were a number of LEP-ers. Congrats to Eunice, Fatima and Nicole, who bagged 6/7 distinctions each!!

During this time last year, I rmb Fong was saying that we should take a look at the list of top students so that we'll be motivated to work hard.. Yes it helps. Yes I’m gonna get straight As for all my subjects, whether or not I’m dropping H3. Yes I’m gonna be up there in the honour roll.

Recently I was still wondering why people work so hard to get paper qualifications. Why people spoil their eyes and sacrifice their beauty sleep to get that last bit of revision done. And damn, why should I mug when I have so many other problems in my life that takes priority. Andrew Matthews explained it all: “You do your best to make yourself feel good.” Not for anyone else. The other benefits you get from good results are secondary. Making yourself feel good is the best thing you can do for yourself. =) Straight As, here I come!

Yea. If there’s one philosopher I like, it’ll be Andrew Matthews. His happy philosophies and laws of the universe are complex wisdom put across in simple terms. Speaking of wisdom, I’ve just discovered for myself the undeniable correlation between wisdom and age (or rather, life experiences). No wonder people say jia you yi lao, ru you yi bao.

Somebody once mentioned that this is the way data gets translated into wisdom. Wisdom, the highest form of understanding of the world one can acquire. Not exactly elusive but sometimes people just don’t possess it, or even reject it. ><

It never fails to amaze myself how random I can get at times. It’s evident especially in the things I write; just read my blog entries. Ah ying says Capricorns are random people and I can’t help but agree.

Was changing back to school skirt after working out at the gym with ah ying. Then “CLAK”, the zip is broken. There goes my skirt. Oh dear, have I really put on that much weight? Lol.

I’ve just found out that calvin tan and my daddy share the same birthday. And I think mr peh’s daughter is also born around this date. And nc just turned 19 a few days ago. A couple of friends are also celebrating their birthdays in the upcoming week. So many birthday boys and girls! Happy birthday to all!! =) Celebrated dad’s birthday and I ate so much cake I think my body composition consists mainly of cake. =P

March holidays are coming, so Sky and I have planned our schedules. We’ve decided to spend an entire day during the week to wake up at the same time, do the same work and everything! Yays~

I’m still considering whether to drop H3. Dream of the Red Mansions is a nightmare, not a sweet dream. =X Haiii~

还记得小时候，每次跟哥一起比较身高时，我总在他的肩膀以下。妈妈拉着我的小手走路时，我总是跟不上她的步伐，不论我如何加快脚步，都赶不上。 最近站在哥的身旁，发现我已经长高了。我几乎不用抬头就能正视他。和妈妈一起走路时，我已不再是那个加快步伐死命追上妈妈的小孩。我走得更快，更远，妈妈似乎赶不上我了。瞬间我发现自己已经长大了。我需要为这个家承担更大的责任。爸妈年纪已不小，我是否有能力拉着他们的手一起度过生命中的难关，就如他们在我年幼时拉着我的手一样？

很多时候，在做了一些事/写了一些文字/说了一些话后，回头想想，都会把我吓得一身冷汗。不是因为担心那些举动所会带来的后果，而是感到惊讶，我怎么会持有那么幼稚的想法呀！*吓得浑身发毛* 后来发现自己没有用心待人，没有用心处事，最重要是没用大脑！！我需要养成用心用脑的习惯呀~
