happy week, kids these days and tj library
This was a relatively happy week for me… Due to the following happenings and people:
Tuesday
I was getting breakfast as usual at temasnack. Then butter-fingered me dropped a dollar and it rolled into god-knows-where, should be under the fridges. I decided to walk away since I couldn’t see very well (it was early in the morning) and it’s kind of dirty down there. The next thing I knew was that this person had already picked up the coin, and was handing it towards me. Imagine the surprise I had. That was very kind of him, it really made my day. It’s not about the money but the effort one puts in to help others. =)))
Wednesday
I must applaud xuanxuan for her nice-ness. I was away at temasek sem and hence missed a couple of lessons. She made the effort to help me collect worksheets even when I didn’t get her to do so. That was very sweet of her. ((:
Thursday
Was feasting on you-know-what. Bagus! *licks lips greedily*
Friday
In addition to an overdose of adorable "sightings", I was just happy. Happy, happy, happy. I can’t find another word that suits happy more. (read: now you should know that I have limited vocab.) Maybe it’s because of pe in the morning. No, there weren’t any eye candies, but jogging helps lift up one’s spirit. :D********************
The American Collection in our library is simply wonderful. They are very much to my liking and add to the not-exactly-vast but sufficient-to-sustain-my-interest collection of books in the school.

As the education level of Singaporeans (kids in particular) increase, their awareness on various “technical” issues is heightened. Eg. Knowing how to protect oneself from health problems by taking a balanced diet, exercising and blahblahbah… But have we learnt the “soft” skills in life? 2 aspects I would like to point out that come under this: 1. How
“shrewd” kids are these days 2. Our levels of EQ
Kids these days are generally smarter and more shrewd (in the sense that they are more “intelligent”) than in our parents’ days. They are not afraid to stand up for their rights (order domestic helpers around and demand their parents buy them what they want), defend themselves ( rebuke when reprimanded on their behaviour) and can rationalize the irrational (somehow find excuses for their wrong doings instead of correcting themselves.)
Ok. I guess I don’t have to elaborate on the issue of EQ in Singaporeans…Just compare with warm and friendly Taiwanese and you know le…Lol.
Unfortunately, I am one of those kids mentioned above. But fortunately, the above does not apply to everyone, and it is merely my humble, if not, narrow, opinion. Kekeke~
Look at my msn nic:
